DYNC1LI2
Description
The DYNC1LI2 (dynein cytoplasmic 1 light intermediate chain 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.
Cytoplasmic dynein 1 light intermediate chain 2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the DYNC1LI2 gene.
DYNC1LI2 is a non-catalytic accessory component of the cytoplasmic dynein 1 complex, which is involved in linking dynein to cargos and adapter proteins that regulate dynein function. Cytoplasmic dynein 1 is a motor protein that drives the retrograde movement of vesicles and organelles along microtubules. DYNC1LI2 may contribute to binding dynein to membranous organelles or chromosomes.
DYNC1LI2 is also known as DNCLI2, LIC2.
