DPT
Description
The DPT (dermatopontin) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.
DPT may refer to: Dermatopontin, a protein involved in cell adhesion and extracellular matrix interactions.
Dermatopontin plays a key role in cell adhesion by binding to integrins on the cell surface. It acts as a bridge between the dermal fibroblast cell surface and the extracellular matrix, influencing cell-matrix interactions. This protein enhances the activity of transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGFB1), suppresses cell proliferation, speeds up the formation of collagen fibrils, and strengthens these fibrils against dissociation at low temperatures.
DPT is also known as TRAMP.
