DOK6

Description

The DOK6 (docking protein 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 18.

DOK6, like other DOK proteins, acts as an adaptor or scaffolding protein. It does not possess enzymatic activity but instead provides a platform for bringing together various signaling molecules. This assembly of signaling molecules is essential for Ret-mediated neurite growth, a process crucial for the development and maintenance of the brain.

DOK6 is also known as DOK5L, HsT3226.
