DOK2
Description
The DOK2 (docking protein 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.
Docking protein 2 is a protein encoded by the DOK2 gene in humans. It is constitutively tyrosine phosphorylated in hematopoietic progenitors from chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) patients, suggesting a role in CML. It may be a substrate for p210(bcr/abl), a chimeric protein linked to CML. DOK2 binds p120 (RasGAP) from CML cells. DOK2 has been shown to interact with INPP5D and TEK tyrosine kinase.
DOK2 is an adaptor protein that facilitates the assembly of signaling complexes. It may play a role in regulating cell proliferation in response to growth factors like IL-4, IL-2, and IL-3. DOK2 might also be involved in modulating Bcr-Abl signaling and attenuating the activation of MAP kinase by EGF.
