DNAJC18

Description

The DNAJC18 (DnaJ heat shock protein family (Hsp40) member C18) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

DNAJC18 plays a role in polyomavirus infection, specifically in the virus's penetration of the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. It facilitates this process by recruiting DNAJB12 and DNAJB14 to SV40-induced foci, which act as entry points for the virus to cross the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and enter the cytosol.

DNAJC18 is also known as -.
