DISC2
Description
The DISC2 (disrupted in schizophrenia 2) is a ncRNA gene located on chromosome 1.
DISC2, or disrupted in schizophrenia 2 (non-protein coding), is a long non-coding RNA molecule. It is located on chromosome 1, at the breakpoint associated with the chromosomal translocation found in Schizophrenia. It is antisense to the DISC1 gene and may regulate the expression of DISC1. DISC2 may also contribute to other psychiatric disorders.
DISC2 is a long non-coding RNA molecule that may regulate the expression of the DISC1 gene. It is located on chromosome 1, at a breakpoint associated with chromosomal translocations found in schizophrenia. While its primary function is not fully understood, evidence suggests it might play a role in other psychiatric disorders.
DISC2 is also known as DISC1-AS1, DISC1OS, NCRNA00015.
