The KRT2 (keratin 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

KRT2A, also known as keratin 2E or keratin 2, is a protein encoded by the KRT2A gene in humans. It is a type II cytokeratin found mainly in the upper spinous layer of epidermal keratinocytes. Mutations in the KRT2A gene have been linked to ichthyosis bullosa of Siemens.
