DCUN1D4

Description

The DCUN1D4 (defective in cullin neddylation 1 domain containing 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

DCN1-like protein 4 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the DCUN1D4 gene.

DCUN1D4 plays a crucial role in the neddylation process, a vital step in activating cullin-RING E3 ubiquitin ligases (CRLs). It acts as a transfer protein, moving NEDD8 (a ubiquitin-like protein) from specific E2 enzymes to cullin complexes. This neddylation process is essential for the proper functioning of CRLs, which are involved in protein degradation and other cellular processes.

DCUN1D4 is also known as DCNL4.
