CYP2D7

Description

The CYP2D7 (cytochrome P450 family 2 subfamily D member 7 (gene/pseudogene)) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 22.

CYP2D7 is a pseudogene, meaning that it is not expressed and does not produce a functional protein. It is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes, which are monooxygenases that catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids, and other lipids. CYP2D7 is thought to have arisen from duplication of the CYP2D6 gene.
