CSH2
Description
The CSH2 (chorionic somatomammotropin hormone 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.
CSH2 may refer to: Chorionic somatomammotropin hormone 2.
Chorionic somatomammotropin hormone 2 (CSH2), also known as lactogen or placental lactogen, is produced exclusively during pregnancy. It plays a crucial role in stimulating lactation, promoting fetal growth, and regulating metabolism. CSH2 does not interact with the growth hormone receptor (GHR) but specifically activates the prolactin receptor (PRLR) through zinc-induced dimerization.
CSH2 is also known as CS-2, CSB, GHB1, PL, hCS-B.
