COG3

Description

The COG3 (component of oligomeric golgi complex 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 13.

COG3, or Conserved oligomeric Golgi complex subunit 3, is a protein in humans encoded by the COG3 gene. This protein shares similarities with a yeast protein and is likely part of a complex located on the cis/medial Golgi cisternae. It contributes to the attachment of transport vesicles within the Golgi apparatus. COG3 has been found to interact with COG2 and COG1. Further information can be found on the UCSC Genome Browser website.

Plays a role in the movement of molecules between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and the Golgi apparatus.

COG3 is also known as CDG2BB, SEC34.
