CHID1

Description

The CHID1 (chitinase domain containing 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

CHID1 is a protein that binds to sugars and lipopolysaccharides (LPS), potentially playing a role in detecting pathogens and neutralizing endotoxins. Its binding preference is influenced by the length of sugar chains, favoring chitotetraose in laboratory settings.

CHID1 is also known as GL008, SI-CLP, SICLP.
