CDCA5

Description

The CDCA5 (cell division cycle associated 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

Sororin is a protein encoded by the CDCA5 gene in humans. It plays a critical role in maintaining the stability of cohesin binding to chromatin during interphase, ensuring proper sister chromatid cohesion. In lung cancer, Sororin's transactivation and phosphorylation at Ser209 by ERK are linked to cancer cell proliferation.

CDCA5 is also known as SORORIN.
