It acts as a downstream effector of CDC42, influencing cellular processes like actin cytoskeletal reorganization, lamellar actomyosin retrograde flow, and lamellipodial F-actin regulation. It achieves this by phosphorylating various targets including PPP1R12C, MYL9/MLC2, PPP1R12A, and CFL1. CDC42BPB interacts with various proteins, including MYO18A, LURAP1, FAM89B/LRAP25, and LIMK1, forming complexes that facilitate its functions. CDC42BPB is activated by LURAP1 binding, and its activity is regulated by CDC42 binding, forming a tripartite complex with MYO18A and LURAP1.
