CD7

Description

The CD7 (CD7 molecule) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

CD7 (Cluster of Differentiation 7) is a protein encoded by the CD7 gene in humans. It is a transmembrane protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, found on thymocytes and mature T cells. CD7 plays a crucial role in T-cell interactions and T-cell/B-cell interactions during early lymphoid development. CD7 interacts with PIK3R1. Abnormal expression of CD7 is linked to refractory anemia with excess blasts (RAEB), potentially indicating a worse prognosis. The absence of CD7 expression might suggest mycosis fungoides (MF) or Sezary syndrome (SS).

Not yet known.

CD7 is also known as GP40, LEU-9, TP41, Tp40.
