CCZ1

Description

The CCZ1 (CCZ1 homolog, vacuolar protein trafficking and biogenesis associated) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

CCZ1, in collaboration with MON1A, functions as a guanine exchange factor (GEF) for RAB7. This role involves facilitating the exchange of GDP for GTP on RAB7, effectively switching it from an inactive to an active state.

CCZ1 is also known as C7orf28A, CCZ1A, CGI-43, H_DJ1163J12.2.
