CCNH

Description

The CCNH (cyclin H) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

Cyclin-H is a protein encoded by the CCNH gene in humans. It belongs to the cyclin family, characterized by cell cycle-dependent abundance and CDK kinase regulation. Cyclin-H forms a complex with CDK7 kinase and MAT1, functioning as a CDK-activating kinase (CAK) by phosphorylating CDK2 and CDC2 kinases. This cyclin is a component of TFIIH and RNA polymerase II complexes, participating in both basal transcription control and cell cycle regulation, linking these two essential processes.

CCNH is also known as CAK, CycH, p34, p37.
