CREB3L3

Description

The CREB3L3 (cAMP responsive element binding protein 3 like 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

CREB3L3 is a transcription factor that may act during endoplasmic reticulum stress by activating unfolded protein response target genes. It is activated in response to cAMP stimulation. It binds to the cAMP response element (CRE) and box-B element in vitro, and activates transcription through both elements. It may function synergistically with ATF6 and activate expression of acute phase response (APR) genes in acute inflammatory response. It may also be involved in growth suppression and regulate FGF21 transcription. CREB3L3 plays a crucial role in the regulation of triglyceride metabolism and is required for the maintenance of normal plasma triglyceride concentrations.

CREB3L3 is also known as CREB-H, CREBH, HYST1481, HYTG2.
