CTRC
Description
The CTRC (chymotrypsin C) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.
CTRC is a human gene that encodes for the protein chymotrypsin-C, also known as Caldecrin.
CTRC, also known as chymotrypsin-C or caldecrin, plays a crucial role in regulating the activation and degradation of trypsinogens and procarboxypeptidases. It achieves this by specifically targeting cleavage sites within their zymogen precursors. Additionally, CTRC exhibits chymotrypsin-type protease activity and contributes to hypocalcemia.
CTRC is also known as CLCR, ELA4.
