Did you know

BRIP1 mutations are rare and contribute to a small percentage of breast and ovarian cancer cases. The BRIP1 gene, also known as BRCA1-interacting protein C-terminal helicase 1, is located on chromosome 17q23.1 and encodes a protein involved in DNA repair and maintenance of genomic stability. Specifically, BRIP1 interacts with the BRCA1 protein to facilitate the repair of DNA damage through the homologous recombination pathway.
