Description

The C17ORF99 (chromosome 17 open reading frame 99) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

C17ORF99 is thought to be a B cell-associated cytokine that helps control the immune system's response to foreign substances. It's involved in the development of B lymphocytes, which produce antibodies, and the production of IgA, a type of antibody found in bodily fluids.

C17ORF99 is also known as IL-40, UNQ464.
