BRK1

Description

The BRK1 (BRICK1 subunit of SCAR/WAVE actin nucleating complex) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

BRK1 is a putative micropeptide protein in humans encoded by the C3orf10 gene. The gene's location and details can be found on the UCSC Genome Browser.

BRK1 plays a crucial role in regulating the organization of actin and microtubules. It's a component of the WAVE complex, which activates the Arp2/3 complex, a key player in actin polymerization. As part of the WAVE1 complex, BRK1 is essential for the endocytic trafficking and signaling of BDNF-NTRK2 from early endosomes.

BRK1 is also known as C3orf10, HSPC300, MDS027, hHBrk1.
