BRD1

Description

The BRD1 (bromodomain containing 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 22.

BRD1 is a protein that plays a role in the regulation of gene expression. It is involved in the formation of various histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complexes, which are responsible for the acetylation of histone proteins. Acetylation of histones can alter the structure of chromatin, making it more accessible to transcription factors and increasing gene expression. BRD1 has been shown to be involved in the regulation of hematopoiesis, the process of blood cell formation. It is also involved in erythroid differentiation, the process by which red blood cells are formed.

BRD1 is a scaffold protein that is part of several histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complexes, including MOZ/MORF and HBO1. It plays a role in regulating hematopoiesis and erythroid differentiation.

BRD1 is also known as BRL, BRPF1, BRPF2.
