Description

The BCAM (basal cell adhesion molecule (Lutheran blood group)) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

BCAM can refer to the human gene BCAM, which encodes a protein with various names, including Basal cell adhesion molecule, Auberger B antigen, B-CAM cell surface glycoprotein, F8/G253 antigen, Lutheran antigen, and Lutheran blood group glycoprotein.

BCAM acts as a receptor for laminin alpha-5 and may participate in intracellular signaling pathways.

BCAM is also known as AU, B-CAM, CD239, F8/G253, LU, MSK19.
