ATF6B

Description

The ATF6B (activating transcription factor 6 beta) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

ATF6B is a precursor protein that is embedded in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane. Under ER stress conditions, ATF6B is processed and released, allowing it to translocate into the nucleus where it activates the transcription of genes involved in the unfolded protein response (UPR).

ATF6B is also known as ATF6beta, CREB-RP, CREBL1, G13.
