ARMC8

Description

The ARMC8 (armadillo repeat containing 8) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

ARMC8 is a component of the CTLH E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex. This complex selectively accepts ubiquitin from UBE2H and then attaches this ubiquitin tag to other proteins, marking them for degradation by the proteasome. ARMC8 specifically targets the transcription factor HBP1 for this ubiquitination and subsequent degradation.

ARMC8 is also known as GID5, HSPC056, S863-2, VID28.
