APOC1P1

Description

The APOC1P1 (apolipoprotein C1 pseudogene 1) is a pseudo gene located on chromosome 19.

The APOC1 gene encodes a protein that is a component of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particles. APOC1 plays a role in the metabolism of lipids, particularly the transport of cholesterol and triglycerides. It is also involved in the activation of lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT), an enzyme that plays a role in the formation of HDL. Variants in the APOC1 gene have been associated with altered lipid levels and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

APOC1P1 is also known as APOC1P, ApoC-IA.
