ANXA3

Description

The ANXA3 (annexin A3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

Annexin A3 is a protein encoded by the ANXA3 gene in humans. It is abnormally expressed in fetuses conceived through IVF and ICSI, potentially contributing to the increased risk of birth defects in these assisted reproductive technologies (ART). Annexin A3 belongs to the annexin family, which comprises calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins involved in regulating cellular growth and signal transduction pathways. Annexin A3 functions in inhibiting phospholipase A2 and cleaving inositol 1,2-cyclic phosphate to form inositol 1-phosphate. It may also play a role in anticoagulation.

Annexin A3 inhibits phospholipase A2, possesses anticoagulant properties, and cleaves the cyclic bond of inositol 1,2-cyclic phosphate to form inositol 1-phosphate.

ANXA3 is also known as ANX3.
