ANXA11
Description
The ANXA11 (annexin A11) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.
Annexin A11 is a protein encoded by the ANXA11 gene in humans. It belongs to the annexin family, a group of calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins. Annexins have unique N-terminal domains and conserved C-terminal domains, which contain calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding sites. Annexin A11 is a 56-kD antigen recognized by sera from patients with various autoimmune diseases. Different transcript variants encoding the same isoform have been identified. Annexin A11 has been shown to interact with PDCD6 and ALG2. Over-expression of ANXA11 is associated with apoptotic alterations in schizophrenia and may contribute to the pathology of this disorder.
ANXA11 is also known as ALS23, ANX11, CAP-50, CAP50, IBMWMA.
