ANO4

Description

The ANO4 (anoctamin 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

ANO4 acts as a calcium-dependent phospholipid scramblase, facilitating the movement of lipids like phosphatidylserine, phosphatidylcholine, and galactosylceramide across cell membranes. However, it does not exhibit the characteristic calcium-activated chloride channel (CaCC) activity.

ANO4 is also known as TMEM16D.
