AKR1E2

Description

The AKR1E2 (aldo-keto reductase family 1 member E2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

AKR1E2 catalyzes the reduction of 1,5-anhydro-D-fructose (AF) to 1,5-anhydro-D-glucitol using NADPH as a cofactor. It also exhibits low reductase activity towards 9,10-phenanthrenequinone in vitro.

AKR1E2 is also known as AKR1CL2, AKRDC1, HTSP1, LoopADR, TAKR, hTSP, htAKR.
