Description

The AK3 (adenylate kinase 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

Adenylate kinase 3 is a protein produced from the AK3 gene in humans. It is located in the mitochondrial matrix and functions as a GTP:ATP phosphotransferase. Several different forms of this protein (isoforms) are encoded by different variants of the AK3 gene.

AK3 is also known as AK3L1, AK6, AKL3L, AKL3L1, FIX.
