Description:
Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease that primarily affects the spine and sacroiliac joints. It belongs to a group of conditions known as spondyloarthropathies. In AS, the inflammation causes pain, stiffness, and eventually fusion of the vertebrae, leading to a hunched posture and limited mobility.
