TGM6

Description

The TGM6 (transglutaminase 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

TGM6 is a human gene that encodes a protein belonging to the transglutaminase superfamily. This protein catalyzes the cross-linking of proteins and the conjugation of polyamines to proteins. Mutations in TGM6 have been associated with spinocerebellar ataxia type 35 (SCA35) and acute myeloid leukaemia. Antibodies against TGM6 are statistically related to gluten ataxia and other conditions.

TGM6 catalyzes the cross-linking of proteins and the conjugation of polyamines to proteins.

TGM6 is also known as SCA35, TG6, TGM3L, TGY, dJ734P14.3.
