TAX1BP3

Description

The TAX1BP3 (Tax1 binding protein 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

TAX1BP3, also known as TIP1, is a protein encoded by the TAX1BP3 gene in humans. It was discovered through a yeast 2-hybrid screen using the Tax1 protein from the Human T-cell Lymphotropic Virus (HTLV). TAX1BP3 is a PDZ domain-containing protein, but unlike many other PDZ domain proteins which have multiple domains, it mainly consists of the PDZ domain. This suggests that TAX1BP3 might function as an inhibitor, potentially separating PDZ binding motifs from their usual targets or preventing the protein from leaving the cytosol.

TAX1BP3 is also known as TIP-1, TIP1.
