ATRN

Description

The ATRN (attractin) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

Attractin is a protein encoded by the ATRN gene in humans. It belongs to the Group XI C-type lectin family and exists in multiple isoforms. One isoform is a membrane-bound protein similar to the mouse mahogany protein, a receptor involved in obesity regulation. Another isoform is a secreted protein that participates in the initial immune cell clustering during inflammation and may control chemokine chemotactic activity.

ATRN is also known as DPPT-L, MGCA.
