Description

JAM3, or Junctional Adhesion Molecule 3, is a transmembrane protein predominantly expressed in epithelial and endothelial cells. It plays a vital role in the formation and maintenance of tight junctions, specialized cell-cell contacts that regulate paracellular permeability and barrier function. JAM3 interacts with other tight junction proteins, contributing to the structural integrity of these junctions. It also participates in cell signaling pathways, influencing cell migration, adhesion, and angiogenesis.
