GDPD2

Description

The GDPD2 (glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase domain containing 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

GDPD2 exhibits glycerophosphoinositol inositolphosphodiesterase activity, specifically breaking down glycerophosphoinositol. It does not act on other substrates like glycerophosphoinositol 4-phosphate, glycerophosphocholine, glycerophosphoethanolamine, or glycerophosphoserine. GDPD2 promotes osteoblast differentiation and growth. It is thought to be involved in the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton.

GDPD2 is also known as GDE3, OBDPF.
