GCC1

Description

The GCC1 (GRIP and coiled-coil domain containing 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

GRIP and coiled-coil domain-containing protein 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GCC1 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a peripheral membrane protein, sensitive to brefeldin A. It contains a GRIP domain, which is thought to be used in targeting. This protein may play a role in the organization of the trans-Golgi network subcompartment involved with membrane transport. GCC1 has been shown to interact with TRIM29.

GCC1 is also known as GCC1P, GCC88.
