GALNTL6

Description

The GALNTL6 (polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase like 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

GALNTL6 catalyzes the first step in the formation of O-linked glycans, attaching an N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) sugar to either a serine or threonine amino acid on target proteins.

GALNTL6 is also known as GALNACT20, GALNT17, GalNAc-T6L.
