GALNT8

Description

The GALNT8 (polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 8) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

GALNT8 is believed to initiate O-linked oligosaccharide biosynthesis by transferring an N-acetyl-D-galactosamine residue to a serine or threonine residue on the protein receptor.

GALNT8 is also known as GALNAC-T8.
