GALNT14

Description

The GALNT14 (polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 14) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

GALNT14, encoded by the GALNT14 gene, is an enzyme belonging to the glycosyltransferase family found in the Golgi apparatus. It catalyzes the first step of O-glycosylation by attaching N-acetyl-D-galactosamine (GalNAc) to protein substrates. Variations in the GALNT14 gene have been linked to chemotherapy response in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma.

GALNT14 is also known as GALNT15, GalNac-T10, GalNac-T14.
