FRMD4B

Description

The FRMD4B (FERM domain containing 4B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

FRMD4B is a gene located on chromosome 3p14.1 that encodes for FERM Domain Containing 4B, a scaffolding protein.

FRMD4B is involved in insulin signaling by being recruited to plasma membrane ruffles in response to insulin receptor activation. It acts as a scaffolding protein that regulates epithelial cell polarity by linking ARF6 activation to the PAR3 complex. It also plays a redundant role with FRMD4A in epithelial polarization.

FRMD4B is also known as 6030440G05Rik, GRSP1.
