FOXO6

Description

The FOXO6 (forkhead box O6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

FOXO6 is a protein encoded by the FOXO6 gene in humans. It's found in the liver, skeletal muscle, and brain's hippocampus. In the liver, FOXO6 normally promotes glucose production when fasting, but insulin stops this process when you eat. When you have insulin resistance, insulin fails to stop FOXO6, leading to continued glucose production even after eating.

FOXO6 is also known as -.
