FOXN3

Description

The FOXN3 (forkhead box N3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

FOXN3 is a human gene that encodes a protein called Forkhead box protein N3. This protein belongs to the forkhead/winged helix transcription factor family. Alternative splicing of the gene results in different isoforms. Checkpoints are cell cycle arrests at G1 and G2 that occur in response to DNA damage. Checkpoint suppressor 1 (FOXN3) suppresses multiple yeast checkpoint mutations by activating a MEC1-independent checkpoint pathway.

FOXN3 is also known as C14orf116, CHES1, PRO1635.
