FOSL1

Description

The FOSL1 (FOS like 1, AP-1 transcription factor subunit) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

Fos-related antigen 1 (FRA1) is a protein encoded by the FOSL1 gene in humans. The FOS gene family includes four members: c-Fos, FOSB, FOSL1, and FOSL2. These genes produce leucine zipper proteins that can dimerize with JUN family proteins to create the AP-1 transcription factor complex. FOS proteins are thought to regulate cell proliferation, differentiation, and transformation. FOSL1 is known to interact with USF1 and C-jun.

FOSL1 is also known as FRA, FRA1, fra-1.
