FN3KRP

Description

The FN3KRP (fructosamine 3 kinase related protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

FN3KRP (fructosamine-3-kinase-related-protein) gene encodes the human enzyme ketosamine-3-kinase.

FN3KRP, also known as ketosamine-3-kinase, plays a role in protein deglycation. It phosphorylates ribuloselysine and psicoselysine on glycated proteins, generating unstable ribuloselysine-3 phosphate and psicoselysine-3 phosphate adducts, which decompose under physiological conditions. Notably, FN3KRP does not phosphorylate fructoselysine.

FN3KRP is also known as FN3KL.
