FMR1-AS1

Description

The FMR1-AS1 (FMR1 antisense RNA 1) is a ncRNA gene located on chromosome X.

FMR1-AS1 is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the opposite strand of the FMR1 gene. It plays a role in regulating the expression of FMR1, the gene that encodes the fragile X mental retardation protein (FMRP). It may also have other functions, such as mediating the interaction between FMRP and other proteins.

FMR1-AS1 is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that is transcribed from the opposite strand of the FMR1 gene. It is located in the fragile X mental retardation 1 (FMR1) locus, a region on the X chromosome that is known to be associated with intellectual disability. FMR1-AS1 has been shown to play a role in regulating the expression of FMR1, the gene that encodes the fragile X mental retardation protein (FMRP). FMR1-AS1 may also have other functions, such as mediating the interaction between FMRP and other proteins.

FMR1-AS1 is also known as ASFMR1, FMR1-AS, FMR1AS, FMR4, FMR5.
