FKBP15

Description

The FKBP15 (FKBP prolyl isomerase family member 15) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

FKBP15 may play a role in organizing the cytoskeleton of neuronal growth cones. While it appears to lack peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase) activity, it is involved in the movement of early endosomes, particularly during the transition from microfilament-based to microtubule-based transport.

FKBP15 is also known as FKBP133, KIAA0674, PPP1R76.
