FILIP1L

Description

The FILIP1L (filamin A interacting protein 1 like) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

FILIP1L acts as a regulator of the antiangiogenic activity on endothelial cells. Overexpression in endothelial cells leads to inhibition of cell proliferation and migration, while increasing apoptosis. Additionally, FILIP1L inhibits melanoma growth when expressed in tumor-associated vasculature.

FILIP1L is also known as DOC-1, DOC1, GIP130, GIP90.
